Camp Invention: Spark (Old Bridge) offers young innovators a week of hands-on STEM adventures designed to spark creativity, build confidence, and ignite a lifelong love for learning. The program, developed by the National Inventors Hall of Fame, features an all-new curriculum each year inspired by real-world inventors. Campers engage in four dynamic experiences: Fur-ensics™, Make Waves™, The Infringers™, and Space Morphers™.
In Fur-ensics™, children sharpen their detective skills by teaming up with robotic capybaras to investigate mischievous pranks, collecting clues, and conducting forensic science techniques to solve an animal mystery. Make Waves™ inspires entrepreneurship as campers design, build prototypes, and pitch innovative billboard boats for ocean advertising, exploring buoyancy and surface tension. The Infringers™ module empowers campers to use their innovative superpowers to solve community challenges, miniaturize top-secret inventions, and learn to safeguard their designs through cryptography and intellectual property. Finally, in Space Morphers™, children launch a mission to transform a new planet's atmosphere, terrain, and ecosystem, building DIY rockets and designing inventions for navigating intense planetary conditions.
Each day, children rotate through two morning and two afternoon experiences, along with collaborative games, and kick off the day at Base Camp™ with icebreakers before breaking into designated groups.
This camp is ideal for curious kids entering kindergarten through sixth grade who enjoy hands-on STEM challenges and want to develop confidence, persistence, and creative problem-solving skills.
