The South Jersey Innovation Center (SJIC) Robotics Summer Camp offers students a hands-on experience in robotics and engineering. Participants will engage with LEGO EV3 and VEX platforms, learning fundamental programming logic and engineering design principles. The curriculum is structured to introduce students to core programming skills through real-world robot applications, including designing, programming, and controlling functional robots. Campers will participate in mini-challenges and self-assessments, culminating in a final challenge that encourages brainstorming, planning, testing, and modifying instruction sequences to achieve specific tasks. For those with prior experience, an intermediate level program is available to further develop imagination, creativity, and problem-solving skills by building advanced robots to address unique tasks and themes. The camp aims to foster critical thinking, logical reasoning, and creativity, laying a solid foundation for future STEM pursuits.
Camp days include various programs, experiments, challenges, and guest speakers, with plenty of breaks for games and outdoor play.
