The Montclair State University AI & Engineering Summer Lab is a one-week immersive residential program designed for high school students interested in Artificial Intelligence (AI), deep learning, and embedded systems. Participants will gain hands-on experience by working with Python and C programming languages, utilizing Raspberry Pi's and other microcontrollers to build intelligent devices. The curriculum focuses on practical application, enabling students to design systems that sense, learn, and respond to their environment using AI models, cameras, and various sensors. By the end of the program, students will be able to apply fundamental programming principles, understand machine learning and neural networks, and present a final AI engineering prototype.
For most programs, students will be in their academic classes from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a break for lunch. The rest of the time is spent enjoying other aspects of campus life and co-curricular activities.
This program is ideal for high school students in grades 9-11 who want to experience college life while gaining practical, hands-on experience in AI, deep learning, and embedded systems.
